Little Women

Ballet Ariel brings beauty and charm, family and community with Little Women

Step into the world of the March sisters — Amy, Beth, Jo, and Meg — in Ballet Ariel’s original production of Little Women, inspired by Louisa May Alcott’s beloved 1869 novel. Beginning on Christmas Day and unfolding through the Civil War era, Little Women is a heartwarming ballet about the love they share, and the lessons they learn while growing up together.

Artistic and Executive Director Ilena Norton created the original scenario and, together with Gossamer Winds director John Richardson, selected a beautifully varied musical score. The music blends familiar holiday favorites like “Away in a Manger” and “I Saw Three Ships” with classical selections, including works from Edvard Grieg’s Lyric Pieces and compositions by French and American composers.

Through expressive, character-driven choreography, each sister’s unique personality shines, allowing audiences to witness the moments — joyful, challenging, and transformative — that shape their journey from girlhood to young womanhood.

Gather your loved ones and experience a timeless story brought to life through music and dance.
