Founded in 1999, CMDance strives to build healthy, thriving communities through world-class arts education programs that bring the global culture of both solo and partnered vernacular dancing to youth and adults.
Community-Minded Dance (CMDance) is a Denver-based nonprofit arts organization dedicated to building healthy, thriving communities through world-class dance education and cultural experiences. Since 1999, CMDance has reached more than 10,000 students annually through school-based arts education while connecting youth and adults to the rich cultural traditions of social dance and live music. The organization produces nationally recognized events—including the Denver Jazz Festival, Lindy on the Rocks, and other community dance festivals—that celebrate music, movement, and cultural heritage. Through education, performance, and community engagement, CMDance creates inclusive opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to learn, connect, and experience the transformative power of dance.
