Highlands Ranch Concert Band

The Highlands Ranch Concert Band provides a platform for area professional and amateur musicians to present quality educational public concerts featuring a diverse range of musical literature, promoting an educational experience for both musicians and the public attending the concerts.

Additionally, we aim to provide musical arts and entertainment for the area’s bands and ensembles; to offer educational and entertaining experiences for the region’s children through collaborative performances and events; and to foster a sense of community, thereby enhancing the quality of life in the region.

Highlands Ranch Concert Band started in 2001 and is a committed group of amateur to professional musicians dedicated to entertaining the South Denver metro community. We are made up of a Concert Band of 80 musicians and an 18-piece big band, Swing Shift.
We provide quality and enjoyable concerts through a variety of musical literature and collaborative performances free of charge in order to promote musical arts and a spirit of community for both adults and children in the South Denver metro area.

25th Anniversary Concert

Encore! 25 Years 0f Music & Memories

On Sunday, May 3, something truly historic is happening – and you’re invited!
The Highlands Ranch Concert Band will be celebrating 25 years of music and memories at a free concert at Rock Canyon High School, 5810 McArthur Ranch Rd, Littleton, Colorado, starting at 3:00 pm with a reception to follow.

The special encore program features works performed over the years, including the exotic sounds of “Arabesque,” “Gershwin by George,” “Symphonic Beatles,” and selections from “West Side Story.”

Special guests will include the band’s founding conductor, Mark Wurst, Joe Brice, conductor emeritus, Bruce Fox, and trombone soloist Neil Guy, former associate conductor.

Swing Into Spring Highlands Ranch 20 Pc Jazz Band FREE Jazz Big Band Concert

Highlands Ranch's very own 20-piece big band presents "Swing Into Spring," an afternoon of instrumental and vocal jazz, heavy on the swing!

Enjoy classics from Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Irving Berlin, and Leonard Bernstein, or the unique stylings of Cab Calloway, Ella Fitzgerald, and Billy May. From sultry ballads to hot Latin dazzlers, from show tunes to dance favorites, there's a little bit of something for everybody.

Sounds and Stories of the West Concert

The Highlands Ranch Concert Band, together with The Legendary Ladies, invites you to hear Sounds & Stories of the West! Enjoy songs such as Silverado, Annie Get Your Gun and Ghost Dances-Wounded Knee 1890. You will be introduced to sharpshooter, Annie Oakley, sister to the Sioux, Elaine Goodale Eastman and firefighter and benefactor, Lillie Hitchcock Coit.

This concert will also benefit Nourish Meals on Wheels to help Douglas County residents in need. Concert is FREE. A donation of $5 or 2 items of non-perishable food for Nourish Meals on Wheels is suggested.
